Memorial Day Weekend

We went on the funnest camping trip with Nathan's family over Memorial Day weekend. Nathan's aunt Tamara and her family lives in Ashland, OR and Stefan and Erin are living in Portland for the summer so we all met up in the middle at Squaw Lake, OR to go camping! It was a blast. Great company, great weather and great location! On our drive up we drove by Mt. Shasta, it was breathtaking!

Once we got to Squaw Lake Nathan decided to take a little dip. What's so cool about this campsite is that there are no cars/roads. You park your car in a parking lot then pay a guy $10 to come get your stuff on his quad and trailer and he takes it to your campsite for you. Each campsite is about a 10 minute walk from each other so you are totally secluded. It was so nice not to be bothered by other campers or cars.

All these pictures are from Tamara and Vince, they are quite the photographers!

Hanging out with my two favorites Sky and Sage on the hammock

Mountain man, doesn't he look good with a beard?!

Where we had church, it was awesome!

On our hike to Little Squaw Lake, it was beautiful!

Hanging out in the lake

This guy got his first dutch oven and is the master of cooking with it now

We went rafting on our last day there and all the boys went cliff jumping, the water was too cold for me!

The whole gang again, it was so fun rafting!!!

I love this guy of mine!

It was such a fun camping trip, and all thanks to Tamara and Vince, they are the best!!!

Life Lately

Thought I would just do a little update on life lately from photos on my phone (and a few from my real camera.)
Last week I took a walk over to the capitol to snap some pictures of the rose garden, it's so beautiful there!

Nathan and I went camping in the Sierras, it was a fun and relaxing quick trip.

Camping selfie

I stopped nannying this cutie, been with him since he was 3 months old, miss him so much!

Nathan went skiing in Tahoe, for work. Awesome, right?

We enjoyed conference and I enjoyed some caprese salad.

I have been summoned, my first time ever, kinda excited, kinda not.

I went to Stanford for a Women in Coaching Clinic, I learned a ton.

I went and visited this cutie patutie for lunch at Intel

And then headed over to the temple (both Intel and the temple are in Folsom)

And we celebrated Easter here with one of Nathan's work friends, it was great!

Yosemite

On Friday night Nathan and I did the 2.5 hour drive to the cutest bed and breakfast just outside of Yosemite. We met our friends from San Jose, the Kindts, there and it was a blast. The couple that owned the house were the sweetest, and the house itself was gorgeous. We hung out with everyone that night and heard some crazy stories from Joe, the house owner, who was a helicopter pilot and Vietnam who has survived 5 different helicopter crashes, crazy! Breakfast the next morning was delicious!

The B&B

Our drive into Yosemite was gorgeous! There was a big snow fall the day before so it looked like we had just entered Narnia. The weather that day had a 60% chance of rain/snow and we prayed for good weather, well there ended up being blue skies, prayers answered!

We made a turn and then all of a sudden we saw El Capitan and Half Dome, we ooh'd and ahhh'd.

Another shot of Half Dome

Half Dome again in the background with Nathan and I.

It was such a fun little trip, we will be going back to Yosemite for sure!

San Francisco

Nathan and I have been meaning to go to San Francisco ever since we moved here but never made it. Well we finally went a couple weeks ago! We really wanted to go see Alcatraz so we watched the movie "Escape from Alcatraz" the night before to prep ourselves for the trip. Touring Alcatraz was awesome! It was so interesting, we both loved learning new things. (Sorry about the phone pictures, my camera died after taking 1 picture! I always forget to charge it!)

How the guys escaped

A nice view of the Golden Gate from the island

1. The window for visitation rights. 2. Pockmarks from grenades during the "battle of Alcatraz"

 1. the cell for solitary confinement. 2. a picture that turned out kinda cool :)

Alcatraz

After Alcatraz we rode our bikes over to China Town!

It was so fun walking around!

We saw some pretty crazy things in the market, like sharks...

or chicken feet....

We loved biking around the city (except for those HUGE hills). For dinner we ate at the Cheesecake Factory on top of Macys.

Dinner with a great view!

It was such a fun little day trip and we plan on doing it again!
