How to Train Your Dragon

James surprised Rivka for her birthday by flying Nathan and I out to Chicago to see How To Train Your Dragon with the family! It was lots of fun spending time with family. The trip was quick but we were happy to be back in Chicago.
Leah and Nathan before the show starts
We had an awesome suite with lots and lots of food!

The show was AMAZING! The dragons looked so real. They moved so freely, their eyes blinked, their wings flapped, their tail moved, they moved like real live dragons!
I loved the movie and knew I would love the play, such a cute and fun story

A fun time was had by all and we miss the Van De Graaff clan!

Coldplay

Oh my goodness. This concert was beyond amazing. Words cannot even describe how awesome it was. I seriously died and went to heaven. I may have cried during their first song. Nathan and I bought these tickets six months ago when we found out we were moving to DC and I have had a countdown on my phone ever since. The day finally came and I am so sad it's over.  When we walked into the stadium they gave up these bracelets. We had heard about them and that they light up. I thought they would light up the whole concert but they are radio controlled and go along with the music. It was seriously so awesome! I was in awe the whole time.

*Sorry about the poor quality phone pictures and videos. They wouldn't allow cameras with changeable lenses*

Viva La Vida, one of my favorites and the crowd was going crazy!

In this song you can see how the light up bracelets go with the music!

Sweet lazor show!!

The best concert I have ever been to!

The National Zoo and Fourth of July

Well I don't think I have posted anything about DC yet. Well we have moved and we are loving it here! We live in Arlington and have a library and park right across the street from us. I could not ask for a better location! I will have to post pictures of our new place soon. We love living close to my sister Cady and her family. It has been so fun seeing them and playing with the kids. Anyway, if you know me, you know I love zoos.  The National Zoo is not only awesome but FREE! I've already been twice and cannot get enough of it. I just applied to be a volunteer keeper aide of the primates! I really hope I get it.

This one is yelling at me to be his keeper.

They have these towers with lines that go across the zoo that the monkeys can freely use to go from inclosed area to the next one. Pretty awesome!

For the Fourth we went to our wards pancake breakfast and made some new friends! After the breakfast we headed downtown to watch the parade.  After the parade we BBQ'd with the Jardines and swam (which I have no pictures of) and then off to the amazing firework show! (which I also have no pictures of :( )

We had a great Fourth here at the Nations capital!

Last Day in New York City

On our last day in NYC we woke up early to wait in the line to see the Kelly show. We were standby and were worried we wouldn't make it into the show but we did! And we wore matching shirts... I am not quite sure why, but we did. We got lots of funny looks haha.

We saw Gavin Degraw perform, he was great!

After the show we went to Serendipity. Emily drinking some frozen hot chocolate.

I recently started the Harry Potter series for the first time in my life and I cannot stop reading!

Some delicious Sprinkles cupcakes.

G for Gluten....Free!

The 9/11 Memorial

Some New York greasy pizza.

And Newsies, which was SO amazing! I loved every second of it.
