Memorials

In between sessions today Nathan and I checked out some memorials.  It was quite chilly today with a high of 55 so we bundled up and went on a lovely walk. Our first stop was Lincoln Memorial. When looking away from Lincoln Memorial you see Washington Memorial and the reflecting pool, so beautiful! Lincoln is my favorite president and he grew up in Nathan's home state! I like to think Nathan will someday become president, and when he does he will be my favorite president :)

On these steps is where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I have a dream" speech.

Korean War Memorial. Here there are 19 soldiers and they reflect off the wall seen to the right equaling 38 soldiers which signifies the 38th parallel which is the dividing line between North and South Korea.

World War II Memorial.

There are 490 stars and each star resembles 100 soldiers who died in the war.

I hope everyone had a great conference weekend!
