I'm almost too embarrassed to blog about this...

Well not too embarrassed about this part. Nathan and I the other night made churros! I haven't had churros in seven years and they tasted great!!

Now this is what I am too embarrassed to blog about... Nathan and I got sports passes this year. Its our last year here at the Y so we are pretty excited to use them! Last night was the BYU vs. Utah game and I hope none of you watched it because it was a waste of time. I don't even want to talk about it... :(
1. Here is Nathan and I before the game. 2. This is Nathan's sweet jersey that actually has a puma on it but looks like a cougar and is blue and white! Its a soccer jersey for Mexico.

 1. The team coming to say hi to us. 2. We all got free pom pom things! 3. THE DUEL. 4. A huuuuge flag.
 1. A typical Utah fan? I think so. 2. Joslin and I. 3 & 4. Us not knowing how to handle a football.
This is the only happy moment of the game. And I have erased my memory from everything that happened after this point in the game.

Go cougs...

Electricity.

Two days ago Rivka, James (Nathan's parents), Nathan and I were watching True Grit when the lights went out and we heard a siren. I guess out here in the midwest they have tornado sirens. Pretty crazy. So we go down to the basement for awhile till the storm passes. Luckily Nathan and I live in the basement so we could just go to sleep :)  I thought for sure by the next day we would have electricity but here we are now on day two with no electricity. I've really never really appreciated it till today. We use electricity in EVERYTHING. Now there is traffic because tons of stoplights are out.  I have to shower in the dark. Do you know how hard it is to shave in the dark?? You can't cook anything. You can't watch a show or a movie, go on the computer or even have lights on to read! A flashlight is basically glued to your hands. I am so grateful for electricity and I cannot wait till it turns back on!

Darn Semi!

Well Nathan and I have been in Chicago for three weeks now and we have been loving every second of it!  Nathan is enjoying his internship while I am enjoying nannying.  I forgot to blog about our 29 hour drive out here. It was quite eventful because this happened:

I know right? So it's day two of driving and I am behind a big old semi. First of all I hate driving behind, beside, in front of or anywhere near semis. They just scare me. I am pretty close to the semi, probably too close when all of a sudden huge pieces of wood come flying at our car, I think it was a wooden pallet before. I was honestly just happy it didn't break our windshield and impale one of us. We saw no damage and I continued driving. Then as I am passing the same semi that ran over the wood and he begins honking at us pointing to the front of the car. So I get off the next exit to check out the car to see a huge piece of wood sticking out and liquid leaking out from somewhere underneath the hood.  Awesome. Thank goodness there was a car shop just off the exit. They tell us about a four hour wait... But for some reason they decided to put us ahead of everyone on the list and did our car first and it only took an hour and a half! What a blessing! But not a blessing to our wallet.  In the end we made it to Chicago. Watch out for those semis!
