Life Lately

Nothing too exciting is happening here lately but I though I would give a little update on our lives! Nathan and I have officially booked our trip to Uganda! We will be going for two weeks in the beginning of June. I can't think of a better place to spend my 23rd birthday. We are going to go gorilla trekking (the main reason we are going), white water rafting, and many other fun adventures. We cannot wait! Here is a little update from some iphone pictures:

My sweet sweet Nathan bought me flowers after a long week of work

A lot has been going on at the zoo. This girl here, Kibibi, is now separated from her best friend Kojo. We have a silverback gorilla named Baracka, three females, and two other males named Kojo and Kwame. In the wild once the males have reached an age where they are no longer babies but are not silverbacks yet they go off on their own and create a bachelor troop with other males. Our two males, Kojo and Kwame, are now at the point so we have started our own bachelor troop at the zoo with the two males. It's sad to see the separation but it has to happen.

Nathan and I went to the Bulls vs. Wizards game where the Bulls lost :( Boo.

It snowed here!

I come home to dinner cooked everyday. Am I the luckiest girl in the world or what?! Here Nathan made me my favorite Slovak dish, halusky.

I am officially a Virginian. Weird.

Life is good. And if anyone wants a vacation to a fun city please come visit us!

Life Lately

I have been kinda MIA lately because I have been blogging about our big trip but now I can blog about my real, normal life! Nathan and I have been putting our sports pass to good use. Go Cougs!

I've been crafting lots lately too! I made these sweet shadow box frames, and plan on doing it for each country we visit!
I also sewed my first project with my new sewing machine! It's a baby blanket for our new niece on the way!

We've been playing some fun games with friends.

It snowed! Once...

And we got to see Jimmer play professionally!

Life is good.

New Things

I was grocery shopping at Macys the other day and looking at all the gluten free goodies in the gluten free section. They had some new products by a new bakery I had never seen. There was a man next to me looking at the new products too. I asked him if he knew it was any good and he said, "Well yes it is! And I'm the one who baked it!" Turns out he's the owner of the new gluten free bakery! He was such a nice man. He was telling me about how 4 of his 7 kids have celiac... And that he was misdiagnosed for many years and celiac caused him to have brain tumors, MS, dementia and the list goes on and on. I am so blessed that my mom was smart enough to have me tested early in life!! Well I bought a loaf of the bread and it is ah-may-zing. Its soft like real bread and I can eat it like a sandwich without toasting it! It's great!! Too bad I am moving form Provo in three weeks :(

The yummy yummy bread

Nathan got a late birthday present from his best friend Harry. He basically started crying when he opened it. It has his high school number...

AND his last name!

I still need to blog about conference weekend and having Emily and Paul here! Just waiting on Emily to email me pictures!

Parentals

For Christmas my sisters and I got my parents tickets to the Donnie and Marie show with a gas card and a hotel in Vegas. They loved it! They came to Provo after the trip in Vegas and hung out with us. It was lots of fun and so great to see them :) We went to the basketball game, it was awesome. There was a flashmob of about 2,500 students that did a dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyOw01IENqU.

A picture of the program and ticket

Our nosebleed seats, but they were actually good seats!

With the parentals

Me and Mama on campus

We went to Carabas for dinner then to the Carl Bloch art exhibit at the Museum of Art. A very beautiful and spiritual experience.
It was so fun being with them and I already miss them lots :(

A Week of Salt Lake

This last week has been crazy but fun. I've been working crazy hours and we both had lots of tests this week but found some time to go to Salt Lake... three times.

First trip: Bulls game

Nathans dad bought us tickets for his birthday

It was a close game the whole time but the Bulls won by 5 in the end (and I am still a Suns fan, I like the Bulls second to the Suns).

Second Trip: Suns game

A bunch of our friends (about 200 of them) went to the Suns game. It was awesome, we were even on ESPN.

The Suns really struggled the first half and we were always down by about 10...

But don't worry! We rocked the second half and won by 8!

Third trip: Dinner with mission friends at PF Changs

We went out to eat with three of Nathan's old mission companions (2 are married and 1 is engaged). The food was delicious and our waitress was awesome. She brought out gluten free lettuce wraps for me since I couldn't eat the regular ones and didn't charge us! There was also a birthday in each of the couples, so she brought out a big slice of chocolate cake AND a piece of delicious fudge for me! It was great.

Now for a 12 hours work day tomorrow and classes... Wish me luck!
