Love Chicago

There are so many things I love about Chicago. Here's a few.
1. It is SO GREEN here.

2. There is a BEACH here. Yes, you think I am crazy. But this is real life. A real life beach. With sand and waves and all that good stuff.

You would think this is California or something!

Last but not least
3. There are cobblestone roads. So awesome. A little bumpy to drive on though.

Electricity.

Two days ago Rivka, James (Nathan's parents), Nathan and I were watching True Grit when the lights went out and we heard a siren. I guess out here in the midwest they have tornado sirens. Pretty crazy. So we go down to the basement for awhile till the storm passes. Luckily Nathan and I live in the basement so we could just go to sleep :)  I thought for sure by the next day we would have electricity but here we are now on day two with no electricity. I've really never really appreciated it till today. We use electricity in EVERYTHING. Now there is traffic because tons of stoplights are out.  I have to shower in the dark. Do you know how hard it is to shave in the dark?? You can't cook anything. You can't watch a show or a movie, go on the computer or even have lights on to read! A flashlight is basically glued to your hands. I am so grateful for electricity and I cannot wait till it turns back on!

Wisconsin.

Enjoying some yummy Culvers.

I love flowers. Especially water lilies.

Sometimes I like to pretend I am a photographer for
National Geographic.

Nathan pointed out this cool green shiny bug so I took a picture of it. Then after I zoomed in I noticed there were two and they were getting it on. Sorry to invade your privacy bugs!!

Seriously how cool is this? Carved INTO the tree.

We went to an awesome little factory that makes yarn.

You can't go to Wisconsin without getting cheese. And if you know me, you know I LOVE cheese. Heaven on earth right here.

Peonies.

I work at a flower shop in Provo and boy do I miss playing with flowers every day.  But I found these beauties in my backyard the other day. I seriously love peonies. They are so huge that basically one peonie equals a boquet. And they are everywhere here. Love it.
